Debbie & Joe Komperda (the Average Joe Beekeeper) are Beekeepers also known as “Beeks”. Interested in caring for our environment and helping the bees we teach others about the fascinating world of Honey Bees.  We recently relocated from Colorado to North Carolina and have taken up beekeeping in the Tar Heel State. While in Colorado we had hives in the Denver Metro Area including Flat Acres Farm, the Historic 17 Mile House Farm Park, Centennial Airport, Dove Valley, The Denver Broncos Football Club Training Center and other host locations. Services we provide include management & maintenance of Bee Hives for Corporate Clients and  Communities. In North Carolina we are currently keeping bees on family owned properties but may expand to other locations in the future, especially if we can find the right hive host in the North Carolina mountains for Sourwood Honey.

We welcome opportunities to address local Schools, Garden Clubs, Senior Centers and other Organizations on Honey Bees and Beekeeping.

Joe, a Certified Master Beekeeper through both the University of Montana Master Beekeeping Program and the North Carolina State Beekeeper’s Association (NCSBA) Master Beekeeper Program (MBP), offers a series of classes, presentations and seminars in the Average Joe’s Guides “Bee-Engaged” series of Beekeeping Information and Instruction.
